The Incubation Centre of PGI organised an informative session on “Introduction to Patents and Trademarks” to create awareness among students about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and its importance in innovation and entrepreneurship. The session was conducted by Prof. Manjunath Ravi Heggade D, Patent Analyst and Assistant Professor of Law, Patel Law College, Bengaluru. The session focused on patents, trademarks, copyright, the importance of protecting original ideas and brands, and the basic process of patent and trademark registration. It provided students with practical insights into protecting their innovations and encouraged them to explore entrepreneurship and research opportunities. The programme strengthened the innovation and entrepreneurship culture at PGI, while highlighting the role of the Incubation Centre in guiding students to transform theicreative ideas into legally protected and commercially viable ventures.
